Noodler’s Ink Russian Eternal Series is a unique collection of permanent fountain pen inks named after famous Russian authors, poets, and composers
Characteristics:
Unlike traditional translucent inks, many colors in this series are opaque and look almost like liquid chalk or milk in the bottle.
Every ink in this lineup is formulated to be fully “bulletproof” and “eternal”. They bind irreversibly to the cellulose fibers in paper, making them completely waterproof, fade-proof, and resistant to UV light, lasers, and professional forgery solvents like alcohol or bleach.
Several inks in this series contain special properties that allow them to glow vividly under UV blacklight.
Because they are highly saturated and heavily formulated, these inks can have a distinct, slightly medicinal chemical scent. They are prone to feathering and bleed-through on lower-grade, absorbent paper, meaning they perform best with fine or extra-fine nibs, or very high-quality paper.
Fountain Pen Maintenance Tips:
Because of the heavy pigment-like behavior and chemical formulation, you should follow strict maintenance guidelines when using this series:
- Avoid Vintage or Celluloid Pens: Use them primarily in modern, easily disassembled pens (like TWSBI or Lamy) rather than rare vintage or celluloid pens, as they can stain clear plastics or be difficult to clean.
- Do Not Mix: Never mix these with non-Noodler’s inks or other Noodler’s sub-families (like the Baystate series), as the pH interaction can cause the ink to gelatinize and clog the feed.
- Agitate Before Use: Always give the bottle a quick shake before filling your pen to redistribute the settled component dyes
